JANUARY
You have proven yourself to be an outstanding chorus student at Madison,
skilled and dependable. Last fall your name was submitted to a committee and
recently I have been notified that your name has been selected to represent
Madison in the Western Region Music Festival Chorus, held at Western CT
State
University. This is quite an honor – let me be the first to congratulate you!
Participating in this event entails the following:
1. You must be available for the dates of the festival. This year they are:
Friday, March 3, 2002 2:30-8:45pm
Saturday, March 4, 2002 8:00 am through to the concert at 3:30pm
A bus will provide transportation there and back on Friday
and there only on Saturday.
2. You must be available to rehearse the assigned music with me on Fridays
and willing to rehearse it on your own as well. I will also be making tapes
for you to practice at home with.
3. Return the following by February 7th:
Student Contract
Health form
Madison Permission Slip
CD order form and check (optional)
Ticket order form and check (advance purchase recommended, sells out)
***Please let me know as soon as possible if you are not available for any
reason. We are required to meet a certain number and I would have to notify
the next student on the waiting list if you are unable to attend.
I look forward to experiencing this wonderful opportunity with you as you
join with the best middle school voices in the region and work with a
wonderful conductor. After receiving your forms, I will forward you more
details regarding schedule of rehearsals and other important and timely
information. (For future reference: rehearsals will be Fridays after school
as soon as we receive the music in the mail.)
Congratulations again!
Sincerely,
Deana W Saunders,
Chorus Director
