LETTER
Dear Parents of 8th Grade Chorus Member,
The time has come for the annual 8th grade chorus assembly with the
Trumbull High School Chamber Singers. The choir will perform and our 8th
graders will learn about the many course offerings in music at Trumbull High
School.
At this time, I would also like to add that it is my hope that you
encourage your child to continue on with their choral program of studies
into
their high school years. Infinite experiences, opportunities, and
friendships
await at THS in both the choral and instrumental programs. If music making
is
something your child enjoys, (notice I did not mention talent as a factor) I
assure you that there is room in their schedule for not only their freshman
year involvement, but all four years. Many THS graduates who have gone on
to
excellent colleges were able to participate in the choral program for all
four years.
Your child's grade has achieved standards high above any other
class.
The change in program to a gender based choral program last year was a major
factor in their vocal development as well as their self-confidence. I have
truly enjoyed working with them, getting to know them and watching them
grow.
Please continue to support music as a part of your child's education. Should
you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time or the
choral director at THS, Ms. Anne Tornillo.
