About the Librarian

My twenty-seven year career has been in the Waterbury Public Schools 
teaching grades 1,2,3 and also Reading Support.  In 2006 I earned 
certification in Library/Media and transferred to the Maloney library. 
I couldn't be happier! Working in this new branch of literacy allows me 
to share my love of books with every Maloney student. I will encourage
free voluntary reading(FVR). That means self-selected, extensive reading 
...........reading for pleasure!

The mission of the Library Media program is to ensure that students and staff are effective users of ideas and information.

1. Students will appreciate and enjoy literature, and choose reading for    
   pleasure.

2. Students will search, evaluate, and use information effectively and    
   efficiently.

3. Students will develop skills necessary for independent lifelong learning.
