Reminder: This Wednesday we will have early dismissal at 1:00 and evening report card conferences. If you have forgotten your conference time or are unable to make it, please let me know. I am available Monday and Tuesday after school if anyone needs to reschedule. Thank you to everyone who has been sending in BOX TOPS. This year our class has collected 853 Box Tops! Unfortunately there are 3 classes that have collected more than us. But we are 4th! Way to go 1-F! Keep collecting! I'm going to ask more of my friends and neighbors to save them for me. YES, those reading calendars are important! Don't dismiss them! They are used as a grade on your child's report card! Book Buddy bags are sent home every night and are due the next day. Blue sheets must stay in the Book Buddy bag. Please return the bag even if you did not get a chance to listen to your child read to you. I will send the book home again. Please use the tips in the parent handbook to help your child with comprehension. Pink sheets are for extra books that your child reads at home. These can be library books, books from your own library or books borrowed from me. When you have filled up a pink sheet return to school and receive a FREE book. Then I will send home another pink sheet. Every month your child will be expected to read 20 books. All books count, mini books, library books, and black and white guided reading books. Keep this calendar in a safe place and return by the end of the month. THIS IS COUNTED AS A GRADE ON YOUR CHILD'S REPORT CARD! Parents, please send in a SNACK for your child each day. We have Gym every Monday and Tuesday. Please wear sneakers on both days. We have library every Friday. Students may check out either one or two books. Books must be returned every Friday. We are collecting BOX TOPS, Campbell's soup labels and Capri Sun pouches. Please cut off the top of the Capri sun pouch and make sure it is clean and dry before sending it in.
