My name is Pamela Fickel. I have been teaching first grade for 31 years. I
taught at both Western School and Central Avenue School before coming to Maple
Hill School when it opened in 1989. I live in Southington with my husband,
Richard. I have two children named Kyle and Alison and a dog, Tyke.
Presently, I am the co-lead teacher, the EIP team leader, the parent volunteer
coordinator, and the PTO teacher representative. I attend all the PTO meetings
and look forward to seeing you there.
I want to teach my students how
to live this life on earth.
To face its struggles and its strife
And to improve their worth.
Not just a lesson in a book
Or how the rivers flow,
But how to choose the proper path
Wherever they may go.
For if I help the world to grow
In wisdom and in grace
Then I shall feel that I have won
And I have filled my place.
And, so I ask your guidance
That I may do my part
For character and confidence
And happiness of heart.
