I look forward to working with the children in 2010! We have accomplished so
much, yet there is still so much more to learn in first grade. We will
continue to work in our math groups, guided reading groups, and in
our "teams." Be on the lookout for information at the end of this month
regarding our 100th day celebration and popcorn party!!
Each morning at 9:05, staff members each work with a group of students. You
may hear this time referred to as "team time," "intervention," or "RTI." The
children are mixed with other first graders and work on the skills that best
fit their educational needs at the time. The teams are constantly being
evaluated and changed as needed. Team time has been working out wonderfully
and has really allowed us to focus in on the specific needs of each group!
Ask your child what "team" they are on and what they are working on from time
to time.
