Family Learning Night, Chairperson Meta Carter
April: This event is a fun family night that is both educational and entertaining. Volunteers are needed for preparation, refreshment table, staffing and clean up.
Father/Daughter Dance, Chairperson Annie Santo
February 5: Mathewson girls and their special man enjoy a night out. Volunteers needed.
Halloweeen Hoot, Chairpersons Darlene Pacelli and Traci Nabors
October 23: A fun night of costumes, treats, and music by a DJ. This is sure to be an event that your family will look forward to! Volunteers are needed for set-up, decoration, ticket sales, refreshments, clean up.

Mathewson boys and moms enjoy a night out. Volunteers needed.

January 22: Experience cultures of the world including crafts, dress, demonstations and food.
Name That Book, Chairperson Tricia Janik
This is a fun reading competition for the third, fourth and fifth graders.
Skate Night, Chairperson Mark Bernard
Mathewson families meet at a local ice rink and enjoy some fun and exercise on the ice.
Turn off the TV week, Chairperson Kelly Warters
April 19-23: A week with events planned such as swimming at the YMCA and game night at Barnes and Noble Night to help children do something besides watch television. Volunteers needed.
Mothers Day Plant Sale, Chairperson Donna Stupak
May 7: The plant sale takes place just in time for mother’s day. Volunteers are needed for staffing and clean up.
Fundraisers

Oct. 5-9 and May 10-14: This is an opportunity for children to purchase a wide variety of books. Volunteers are needed to staff the book fair.
Holiday Fair, Chairperson Elizabeth Capobianco
December 11: Children go on a holiday shopping extravaganza and may purchase a variety of crafts and other items that are sold at affordable prices. The fair runs a full day and the children are assisted by our own fifth graders. Volunteers are needed for many different tasks done in preparation for the fair and to staff the fair.

Early Fall: This is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. Each child is given a catalog of wrapping and other gift items to sell. Volunteers are needed to distribute all of the orders once they arrive at the school.

October: Brand new fundraiser to Mathewson designed to promote school spirit and student exercise.
Ongoing Moneymakers
Bestow-A-Book, Chairperson Lisa Wywoda
Enrich our Media Center and give Mathewson families and staff an opportunity to pay tribute to others. A list is available from which you can purchase a book in honor of someone. A dedication label is placed inside that book indicating whom it was purchased for and who bestowed it. That book then becomes property of the Media Center and is added to their collection.
Box Tops, Chairperson Donna Feibusch
PTA collects box tops, Campbells soup UPC symbols, and a variety of other products that are then turned in for cash used to purchase needed items for the school.
Shoprite, Chairperson Alison Elliott
The school earns items when families purchase groceries using registered Shoprite cards.

A variety of t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and fleeces are available to purchase and show your school spirit.

September: Students information (name, address, phone numbers, teacher name, room #) is collected from all students. This information is compiled into a directory that is published to all students and faculty.

Sunshine does all of the nice things for the Mathewson administration and teachers. They stock welcome baskets, send cards and gifts when applicable, plan and execute different things for teacher appreciation week, etc.

A huge undertaking always in need of volunteers. Fifth graders love receiving this gift from the PTA, but it wouldn't be possible without all of the volunteers working behind the scenes putting it together!
