Walk Our Halls

Welcome - and be informed.

Meet Wally, the beaded iguana, is a favorite of everyone.

Mauro-Sheridan is committed to working collaboratively with students, teachers, parents and community to provide a learning environment where all children can learn and develop to their maximum potential. This is the Comer Model.

Our school-based health clinic, full-time school nurse and social worker support health and wellness for students and staff.

You can learn about NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) throughout our building. Mauro-Sheridan is one of 100 NASA Explorer Schools nation-wide.

Outside the Family Resource Room you can find a bulletin board to keep you up to date. Information is also sent home and is on our website - check out Newletters, Flyers, etc. on the main page.

Mauro-Sheridan is named for Susan Sheridan, first educator in New Haven to earn a doctorate degree, and Vincent Mauro, the youngest President of the Board of Alderman and a community activist. The two interdistrict magnet schools combined in the fall 0f 2009.

Visit out "Ancient Technology" museum!

Man's first step on the moon was more than forty years ago on July 21, 1969.

A life-size space suit welcomes all.

Students observe animals throughout the day and the building.

One of our magnet themes - SCIENCE - can be seen in projects.

Did you know that Sheridan was the location for a feature length film? In 2006 it you were lucky you could have seen Uma Thurman and Rachel Wood at "Hill View High School."

It's never too early to think about college.

The Guidance Office supports "New Haven Promise", college scholarships for New Haven students, with this inspirational display.

We are proud of our many before- and after-school programs.

The anti-bullying message is everywhere.

This poster tells all about us.
