Message from the Principal

John F. Kennedy once wrote, "Change is the law of life...those who look only to the past or present are sure to miss the future." I write to ask you to join me in the excitement and promise of our energizing, new adventure - embarking on the merger of Susan B. Sheridan and Vincent E. Mauro Interdistrict Magnet Schools for the 2009-2010 year and beyond. Though change is arduous, it is also the agent of progress. I am pleased that all of us are entering a new phase and that a new horizon is presented before us.

As we undergo these changes, there are many things to be considered. It has taken time and diligent work among the administrative teams, staff, and parents of both buildings to forge the best plan for success. In doing so, we have created a plan for assisting us to meet, collaborate, and work together to make this move an efficient and beneficial one.

We are all very excited to be taking on this new prospect of opportunity for growth for ourselves and our students. Please be advised that Ms. Courcey, Ms. Schlank, and myself will be here to help all of you in any way we can to make this a smooth and successful transition. I assure you that we are embarking on a new adventure that will provide us all with challenges, but also many successes and a positive future for our young people.

Pipsqueak and Wally Have Moved! On their way... As reported in this article from the New Haven Independent (June 4) one of the more unusual moves over the summer would be that of the animals of Vincent Mauro School. We are glad to update that the move was very successful and all are adjusting to their new home.
