Friday Sept 3 For Kindergarten and pre-K parents:
School begins on Friday September 3, 2010 at 9:15. Kindergarten parents only: escort your kindergartener to the Family Resource Room (112) to await medical clearance.
As a reminder, your child's physical and immunization records must be on file with the Mauro-Sheridan School-Based Health Center in order to begin school. Please give your paperwork to the school nurse on the morning of September 3rd if you haven't done so already. If necessary, call your pediatrician or make an appointment with our clinic by calling 203-691-2815 between 8:30-3:30 M-F.

Message from the Principal - Summer 2010
I write this letter in hopes that all of you are finding some rest, productivity and rejuvenation throughout these summer months. During the 2009-2010 school year we completed the arduous process of merging the Susan B. Sheridan and Vincent E. Mauro Interdistrict Magnet Schools, taking the best from each to strengthen our science, technology and communications programs.
As we move into our second year, we must remember that it takes time and diligent work among the administrative team, staff and parents to build the best plans for success. We will continue to strengthen our plans for collaboration, effective change and student growth. Together we will implement these plans and work toward an even higher pinnacle of achievement for our young people.
I welcome all of our students, returning and new, to the 2010-2011 school year. I ask you, once again, to join me in the excitement and promise of the coming year, as we continue to provide a quality education for our young people, forge relationships and strengthen the school community even more!!!
Please be advised that our entire administrative team — Ms. Courcey, Ms. Schlank and I — will be here to help all of you in any way that we can to make this upcoming school year a productive and successful one. The new year - this new adventure – will provide us all with challenges, but also many successes and a positive future for our young people. Oprah Winfrey wrote,“For every one of us that succeeds, it’s because there’s someone there to show us how.” Let us work together to show each other, and our children, the path to a positive and fruitful future.
