Welcome !! Our room is affectionately referred to as the "Rainbow Room".
It is a bright, colorful room decorated mostly by the children's work.
Here you will find beautiful children learning, playing and singing
each day. A sign in our room lets all who enter know the philosophy of our
room - "We are lovable and capable !" In our room, individuality is embraced
as each child contributes to our collective whole.
Our class also embraces cultural diversity. There are many different
nationalities represented in our room. Some children receive ESOL services.
The Rainbow Room is a warm, colorful room where every child is respected
and challenged educationally to maximize his or her potential. Here, children
learn how to work together; take pride in their work; be kind and helpful to
their peers and take responsibility for their actions.
My philosophy is based on the beliefs of kindergarten founder Fredrick
Froebel. He saw kindergarten as a garden of children. The teacher is the
gardener and plants the seeds of knowledge. She waters them, makes sure they
have proper growing conditions and guides them as they grow. The year of
kindergarten is a journey, not a race. So welcome to the journey of kindergarten!
