Middlebrook Third Grade Happenings

Math

Our next unit in Math is about addition and subtraction. During this unit,
students will be reviewing the addition and subtraction strategies that we
have been practicing all year and apply them to greater numbers. They will
be asked, again, to discuss and share their reasoning and solutions.

Multiplication Update!
Please remember, by the end of third grade, we would like all the
children to have mastered the multiplication facts for 0, 1, 2, 5, and 10.
They should also know the facts for 3 and 4! Children should continue to use
strategies such as, drawing a picture, to help with all the other facts!

It is also very important that the children continue to practice their basic
addition and subtraction combinations. Please continue to practice your Fact
Folders.

Parents: Continue to look for Family Newsletters that will be coming home
periodically to further explain what your child is currently working on in
Math.
