Counseling

My role as a school counselor at Middlesex is to make sure every student has a safe, successful, and happy day, every day.  I am here as a link between students, parents, and teachers to work to ensure that we’re all on the same page to enable this to happen.  I assist students in developing the academic skills and personal characteristics necessary to reach their potential.  However, it doesn’t happen over-night!  I am fortunate to move with them between the grades, so this is a journey that will take place throughout their time here.  By working closely with teachers to identify student strengths and needs and working with parents to address student concerns, I hope to be a meaningful part of your child’s life during the middle school years.

Throughout the years, my services will include individual and group counseling, classroom activities, crisis intervention, and many conferences and discussions with teachers, administrators, parents, and other support staff on issues that arise.  We all work as a team here, and luckily have many opportunities to collaborate in order to best meet the needs of all students.

Each student develops, learns, and makes decisions differently.  During this stage of their life, they are faced with many challenges and outside forces that can influence these factors.  As students start having to deal with these issues and opportunities, it is my hope that my services will be able to help them succeed in the best manner possible, and help them become aware of their own academic, social, and personal/emotional needs.
