Thursday 12-17-09 - Think about your thesis statement for the essay you are
writing in class tomorrow. When are actions against one's own government
justified and when are they considered treason? Remember to check out thos
rebellious acts and bring the facts with you tomorrow in your brains! you
can work on a graphic organizer to organize your thoughts. (not to use in
class tomorrow)
Tuesday 12-15-09 - Sorry for the late notice!!!! Per. 3 and 4 - you don't
have to read the other 2 readings - we're planning to read them in class
tomorrow. If you already did - No Worries - You'll be very smart and good
for the class discussion. Our Homework tonight is supposed to be to review
those items on the list of rebellious actions so that you can use ones you
want to in the essay.
Monday 12-14-09 - Read, underline and take active notes on the Shay's
rebellion worksheet. Answer the questions at the end. If you need one in
the morning, I have left them on my desk.

Friday 11/6/09 - Today in class you organized all your Road to Revolution
and
Tools of protest materials. Take some time to review them all. You need to
know each of the causes of the war (acts, etc.) and their dates. You need
to
know everything from Proclamation of 1763 - to July 4, 1776. Good idea to
separate in your mind the causes and effects of British actions.
Needed for test:
bullet notes, vocabulary words, Ch. 5 study guide, Boston Tea Party/Sons of
Liberty sheet, Declaration of Independence sheets, worksheets, graphic
organizers, Events leading to Revolution, Decipher the Declaration, Common
sense sheet, Common sense play, American Rev. cause and effect ladder.
Thursday 11/5/09 - Using the document I gave you - the Declaration of
Independence - answer the questions about the DOI.
Wednesday 11/4/09 - Using the reading "Common Sense" by Thomas Paine,
explain
4 reasons that T. Paine gives for why the colonies should separate from
England. Make sure to give details and/or support from the text to support
your answer. If you can give more than four answers with adequate support,
that would be great. The 5th question to answer - What techniques does
Paine
use to try to convince his readers? Do this on a separate sheet.

of the text book. You will use the notes in class tomorrow to complete an
assignment, so they should be very thorough.
****Life in the Colonies Test Friday****
For this test, review the chart we made covering geography, economy,
education, religion, culture (was it society?)for all the regions. Also
included will be the placement of all 13 colonies and some key cities
(Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Charleston S.C.) The text book reading
we're doing this week also reinforces the information. Also included is the
definition of mercantilism and the mercantilism questions.
Thursday 10/22/09 - Study for Life in colonies test. study the map on pg.
111, the colony chart, colony chart questions and mercantilism questions.
Tuesday 10/20/09 - Finish reading and taking active notes on the
Mercantalism paper. Answer the questions at the end of it on a separate
sheet of paper using complete sentences. This is to be handed in.
Review the 13 colony chart for the test on Friday.
Monday 10/19/09 - Read pages 110-113 in the text book. Write 3 bullet notes
for each paragraph. Also - answer questions 3, 4, and 5 on page 113 using
complete sentences.
Tuesday 10/12/09 - Pack for Boston. Don't forget warm clothes and healthy
snacks. Remember to bring your worksheet in your back pack. See you at

Reasoning questions) and be ready to explain your answers in class. We

consider whether or not Mary Dyer did the right thing.....

Also - define the vocabulary on the sheet in the context of what we are

Visit mayflowerhistory.com and spend 15-20 minutes reading everything on the
site. Read through the information on the passengers and choose 2 or 3 that
you'd like to role play for our "Mayflower Mixer". Choose one that you

you could use the facts to turn into real "pilgrim personality". I will
give
you the research questions tomorrow. The Mixer is on Tuesday.
