Mrs. Galvin has been teaching in the Darien Public Schools since
1973! She currently enjoys teaching in the beautiful new facilities of
the updated school. The Family Studies program includes basic health
concepts,communication skills and relationships, substance abuse
information, and introductory foods and nutrition.
Students in Family Studies will gain a greater awareness of the
choices they face every day, from choosing food to making decisions
which can affect their lives for years to come! Students will also
learn skills in following directions, using time wisely, and being
aware that how they treat others influences how they themselves will
be treated. They will learn how to communicate effectively, and how to
behave assertively.
