Monday, January 4 – Due on Wednesday:
1. Carefully and completely read Chapter 7, Section 2 “Cultures of the
Caribbean” from page 219 to 223.
2. As you read, define the following terms (if needed use the glossary in the
back of the book): Archipelago, Greater Antilles, Lesser Antilles, Hurricane,
Communist State, Cooperative, Embargo & Commonwealth.
3. Answer questions 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7 on page 223.
Wednesday, January 6 – Due Friday. Complete the map of the West Indies that
we began in class before vacation.
Friday, January 8 – Look through the web sites linked to the library home page
on pirates (left hand side toward the bottom "Pirate Links"). Use this
information to research your play.
