Mr. Tracey’s 
Map Completion Guidelines

Follow this guide for all of your maps!!!!

Requirements:

1.Label COUNTRIES, CONTINENTS, and OCEANS using all capital letters.

2.Label cities with a dot.

3.Label national capital cities with a star.

4.Provide a map key that explains all symbols used on your map.

5.Color requirements for labeling:
  a.COUNTRIES – BLACK (color every country - whether you have to label it or not!)
  b.Cities – Black (Capital cities can - but do not have to - be in red.
  c.Bodies of water – Blue (OCEANS IN CAPS)
  d.Other land forms – your choice 
  e.I do not require that you color in bodies of water.

6. Do not add anything extra to your map - only include the places, 
etcetera, that are included on the guideline sheet handed out by Mr. Tracey.

Suggestions:

1. Label everything in pencil first, then erase pencil lines after going over
them in pen/marker - you will only receive one map!

2. Outline all areas before coloring.

3. Label cities first, land/water areas second, countries last - then color.

You will be graded on accuracy, neatness, spelling, and overall effort!!!!
