Is it necessary to have a pencil or pen in class every day?

Absolutely! Taking down important information or specific
directions are necessary to do your best work.

Should we log on?

Most classes you will log on as soon as you come in. If there
is a change in that procedure, it will be announced before class
begins. If you come early to class, you may practice changing
the desktop color.

May we take our folders home?

No, your folders stay in the classroom until the end of the
semester.

If the folders stay in the classroom, how do we study for the test?

The notes may go home whenever you need to prepare for a test.
However, notes should be returned to your folder on test day.
If they are not, your test grade will be lowered by 5 points.

When am I permitted to come in to use the computer lab?

Students may use the computer lab during their study periods
and/or after school. If you plan to come in during a study
period, you must get a pass from Mrs. Trezza and bring it back
signed by your study hall teacher.

Mrs. Trezza stays after school Monday through Thursday. If
Friday is the only afternoon you can stay, something may be
arranged. No pass is needed to stay after school, but parents
should be notified if that is going to happen.

How do I get sound from my computer?

Follow these steps: Start> Programs> Accessories>
Entertainment> Volume Control. Make sure none of the mute
buttons are pressed if you want sound. Remember these computers
do not have additional speakers, so the sound may be lower than
you are used to.

If my password does not work, what do I do?

Go to the library, and the librarian will be able to give you a
new password. It is your responsibility to remember your
password. Do not share it with anyone. You are responsible for
any activity in your account.

How come our assignments are giving us fewer instructions?

When you enter the second half of the semester, you should be
applying what you have learned to your projects. Most answers
to how something is done can be found on a previous handout.
This is an excellent time for you to show me how much you have
learned and how well you can complete work independently.

What do I do if I missed a test or did not complete the test?

You are to make up or finish the test as soon as possible after
your return to school. Within a week is the allotted time.
After that, the grade may be averaged in as a zero, which will
certainly have a negative effect your grade in this class.

How can I send something home through my school email?

Your email is MS Outlook. Just as you open any MS Office
application, you can open Outlook. If you are in another Office
application, just go File> Send to. It might take several
seconds, but a screen will open that you should recognize as an
email screen. You can send from that screen. I would suggest
that you send a document as an attachment.

Did we do anything important while I was absent?

Yes, every day we do something important. Therefore, when you
return, you should be ready to work hard to catch up. Absence
is not an excuse for not having work handed in on time. I
suggest you listen to what is going on in class so you do not
continue to fall behind. It is important that you do the
project that the class is doing. Catch-up work may be done
during study periods or after school. However, if you do have
class time to work on something, use the time wisely.

How do we identify our work so that we get credit?

Each student gets a Student number and a class name. Every paper
you hand it should have this information in the Header. This
will be explained clearly during early classes. It is always
modeled for you on your assignment sheets.

Where do we put our papers?

When you take your paper from the printer, put it in the sorter
in the front of the room under your student number.
Sometimes, I will ask the class to leave their papers in printer
and will collect them myself. If you are handing in late work,
please put it in the basket to the right side of my computer.
