Monday, October 26: Finish working on found/shape poem. We will copy out on 
computer paper and color with colored pencils in class.

Tuesday, October 27th: fill out tan worksheet writing 10 sentences with 
instructions using October by Robert Frost. Since it is raining, use the 
senses of smell and sound the most. You can simply stand at a window or in a 
car roll down a window and experience Nature on a rainy day. There is a 
definite scent of rain on wet fall leaves. Use ASSAP.
Wednesday, October 28th: work on green seed poem. Another found poem with 
lines from your observations on the tan worksheet last night plus October by 
Robert Frost and my October poems. Your found poem is made up of incomplete 
sentences, colors, and sounds. We will finish this in class and color.

Monday, November 2: Answer questions on Pumpkin Paragraph worksheet. write 10 
complete sentences in pumpkin. Due Wed 4th.

Wednesday, 4th: read in your book for 20 minutes. Find one spot that 
surprises, amuses, teaches you and jot down the page number on post it note.

Thursday, November 5th: finish copying out October by Robert Frost in best 
handwriting and decorate it appropriately.

Weekend: read twenty minutes Saturday and Sunday in your ssr book and do two 
post-it-notes of passages that you found interesting, surprising, sad, happy, 
or you learned something from and why. We will do the same thing in class, 
write about them briefly in our journals. This reading is separate from the 
reading you do for English A.

Monday, 11/9/09

Go outside in Nature and describe how you feel. Indian Summer is when Mother 
Nature gives us the gift of warmer weather in late fall and then takes it 
back. She is an Indian giver. Use ASSAP in your paragraph as well as new 
colors and vocabulary.

Tuesday, 11/10/09
Fill out worksheet on double entry journal system on 3 quotes in your SSR 
book. This is a take home quizlet. Use the gray worksheet with the format.
Wednesday, 11/11/09

Make index cards for each new vocabulary word on the lavender sheet. Word and 
part of speech on one side and definition on other. See Handouts icon for 
words.

Thursday, 11/12/09:

Draw symbols for each new word on your index cards on the definition side.  
Add to scorn to your list: to scorn means to show contempt or anger and 
disgust about something or someone. Rogue also means a scoundrel and a scamp, 
a dishonest person, a thief.
