Fluency Assessment Package

This is a complete assessment package the Kindergarten Teachers of John F.
Kennedy School in Milford, CT created. We usually think of fluency connected
to Reading but they wanted to develop fluency with their Kindergarten
Literacy skills. Download each Power Point, print off the assessment sheet
(or the Individual Assessment Sheet which includes all 4 Fluency Areas -
bottom link) and you are ready to assess each student. Enjoy!! Let us know
what you think. It is very easy to use, very quick and gives you useful
informational data on each child.
At the bottom of this page two additional PowerPoints have been added to use instead of the Sound Fluency PowerPoint, which allow the vowels and consonants to be assessed separately. New recording sheets have been added as well.

After using this package they realized that it was time consuming

be printed on legel size paper.

The Kindergarten Teachers of John F. Kennedy School decided to make some
changes to their Fluency Assessment Package. They separated the vowels from
the consonants, giving you two new PowerPoints and a new individual recording
sheet. They also included a new breakout sheet with the vowels and consonants
listed separately. They have found that this assessment package shows
useable data that matches with their student's reading progress.
