Dear Parents,

Happy Mid-May!  Spring is surprising us this year with continuous roller coaster weather.  Please send your child to school in sneakers for recess as well as a jacket/sweater. 

We have started our poetry unit and the children are immersed in learning about the characteristics of poetry.  We are collecting the poems that we are reading as well as writing.  These poems are kept in a binder that your child will bring home at the end of the unit.  
 

Our mealworms have been busy becoming beetles and we now have caterpillars that we will observe.  The children made beautiful predictions about what a painted lady butterfly will look like.  Stay tuned.

A reminder that there is a math problem on the back of the homework page. This is extra practice. It is not an assigned part of your child’s homework. However, these math problems are examples of what skills your child should be able to master at this point in the school year.
