With those 'April flowers bringing us May flowers' the end of the year is approaching quickly.

Many thanks again for the kind and thoughtful gestures that made me feel very special each day of Teacher Appreciation Week!

We sailed aboard SoundWaters 'rain or shine.' Despite the drizzle the children learned a great deal and seemed to really enjoy the experience.

Please join us at 11:00 in the school auditorium, on Thursday, May 29th, to see the second grade Flat Stanley production. We hope to see you there!

Tuesday, May 29th, immediately following the Memorial Day weekend, we will be heading into New York City to The Metropolitan Museum of Art to view the pieces of art that we studied in our monthly Learning to Look sessions with Dr. DiGiacomo. Please remember the following:
Your child will need a separately labeled snack and a separately labeled lunch. Please do not send in sugary beverages. Thank you. We're hoping for sunny weather so we can enjoy our lunches outdoors.

BOX TOPS FOR EDUCATION
We are really 'up there' with our number of collected 'boxtops'. Unfortunately, word is out that we do not have the most, but that we are close.
Let's win this one! Please start clipping the Box Tops for Education and send them in with your child. Not only is there an incentive for the children, but there's one for the teacher too! Wouldn't it be terrific to win this one?????





Classroom Shutterfly Site
Meredith's mom, Dr. Digiacomo has spent much time setting up a classroom Shutterfly site. The site will have helpful classroom information for you, as well as many photos of classroom happenings. If you'd like to be a part of this and would like to have access, please let me know and we'll get you set up.

Please remember the following:
NO peanuts nor any items containing peanuts whatsoever, can NOT be brought into the classroom due to a very serious allergy in the classroom.
Your understanding and support with this matter is greatly appreciated.

Children will not be allowed to have juice or Gatorade drinks for snack in the classroom- JUST water.

If you are picking your child up early before the regularly scheduled dismissal time, a note ahead of time would be appreciated so that your child can be prepared for the pick up when you arrive in the office.


Thank you to those of you who have provided your child with the requested supplies and a very BIG thank you to those of you who have generously purchased items for class use! They all are very useful and  much appreciated.

If you need to inform me of something during the school day, please call the school office, 203-977-4469 before 2:00 that day and the secretaries will get the message to me if you make the request.
 
In order to reach you, it is imperative that I have your current phone numbers. ANY time that information changes, please inform both the school office and me immediately. It's important that your child know how to contact you either by memorization or by a slip with contact information placed somewhere safe in his/her backpack.
