The final book club...and it's a biggie.
Catch-22 by Joseph Heller
Same rules as the last one. Four sessions on Thursday mornings. This one is
not for less-than-motivated reader...check the page assignments below.
Due 5/17: pages 1-127
Due 5/24: pages 128-234
Due 5/34: pages 235-355
Due 6/7: pages 356-end
The book is well worth your time so long as you know you can commit to read
each page. The pages are long and involved, but it is one "heckuva" read. I
will take the first 16 students who wish to attend, and those folks can begin
to pick up the books Wednesday morning. I'll also need two leaders per
session.

Okay, here is our first of the year. I will offer an early morning book club
(6:45 - 7:20) throughout the month of March and into early April. The book
is a connective piece to our study of Mark Twain called FINN. Written by
John Clinch, the story details the life of Pap, and it will open your eyes to
see how this author fictionalizes the life of a character we actually know
little about. You will have to obtain a copy on your own; it just hit the
book stores a week or so ago.
I will accept the first sixteen students who either email or see me. I will
also need students to run each of the four sessions. I will post
information regarding the actual mornings we will meet as well as the extra
credit available. You must attend all of the meetings and particiapte
actively to earn the credit.
Dates: 3/22, 3/30, 4/6, 4/12
75 pages per meeting
I need two volunteers per session to run the discussions; sign up now.
