Homework will be given on a nightly basis with the purpose of providing
reinforcement and extension of skills and concepts taught in class. Homework
assignments will be distributed and directions/expectations will be discussed
at the end of each day. The students are responsible for recording the
assignments in their assignment pads/planners and returning the completed
assignment to school on the due date.

A typical week night's assignment:

*Reading: Read 20 minutes and record in log (parents initial in reading log)

*Spelling: skill sheet, ABC order, sentences or definitions.

*Math: skill review sheet or problem solving practice

*Writing: editing/revising or grammar practice sheet

*Students should review multiplication facts on their own each night.

Additionally, there will be long term project-type assignments throughout
the year that will need to be completed in addition to regular homework
assignments. Rubrics, time-lines and handouts will be provided for these
projects and may also be posted on the website.
