There are many ways in which you could help out in
your child's classroom. Children love to have their parents or someone special
to them participate in their education. You may either read to the class or
help out with a class project at school or at home.
Friday Afternoon Readers:
On Friday afternoons I like to have parents come in
and read a story to the class. The parents come in from 2:30-2:45 or I could
send one home for you. If you would prefer to have a book chosen for you,
please let me know one week in advance.
The first sign-up sheet will be out at Open House.
Each sign-up sheet will be for about two months. Once I have a list of those
who are interested I will make a schedule. Please check the schedule over and
let me know as soon as possible if there is a problem. Other sign-up sheets
will be sent home throughout the year as needed.
Helping Out From Home:
I understand that it is not always easy for working
parents to come into the classroom. There are several times throughout the
year when I could send home a project for you to work on at home. Sometimes it
might be to type a class story we have written together or individual stories
that the children have written. There are also times when I could use help
putting together center activities. These usually involve coloring, cutting,
and gluing. Please send in a note if you are willing to help with this type of
project. I will send the materials home with instructions. I usually have
plenty of projects throughout the year.
