We will go on a few field trips in first grade. Each field trip is related
directly to things that we are learning in class.
Before each field trip, you will receive a permission slip form. Please
return the permission slip by the due date. We cannot bring your child on the
trip without your written consent.
Chaperones for class trips are selected on a rotating basis. We try to give
everyone a turn.
Trips vary from year to year. Some of the field trips we may go on this year
include:
The Coastal Audobon Center: to explore the tide pools
The American Indian Museum: to explore Native American culture, and see an
authentic Algonkian village
The Connecticut Children's Museum: to learn about communities...Great place,
lots of fun!
a theatrical performance: related to the books we are reading in class
Other favorite trips include: The Eli Whitney Museum, Beardsley Park Zoo, and
the Garbage Museum
