Volunteering

There are many ways that you can volunteer in Room A-10! I will present a
sign up sheet at Open House. You can sign up for a variety of activities
throughout the year.

Helping In School:

Family Story Time- Every Friday afternoon, a guest reader comes in to share
books with our class. You may bring books from home or pick a few from our
classroom library.

Room Parents: Room parents are organized by the PTA in the fall. Room
parents help to organize parties and special activities.

Chaperone a field trip: With each field trip, we will need a designated
number of chaperones. We select chaperones on a rotating basis, so that
different parents will have a turn to come.

Special projects and activities: Occasionally, we will have special
activities and projects where parents will be invited to help. Some of these
activities include: our Thanksgiving feast, Read Aerobics, egg coloring,
gingerbread cookies, and other projects.

Laminating, book binding

Helping in the computer room (beginning of the year). You don't need to be a
computer expert. It just helps to have an extra pair of hands until the
children are using to logging in independently.

Helping From Home:
I realize that it is not always easy to come in and volunteer at school. If
you would like to help from home, here are some activities that you may choose
to do:

~preparing center materials (coloring, cutting, gluing, etc.)
~binding class books
~preparing learning materials (binding books, cutting out art materials, etc.)
~phone tree
