MILFORD, CT ~ One of the 100 Best Communities for Young People
http://www.americaspromise.org/100Best.aspx?id=968
Milford was named one of the 100 Best Communities for Young People, in part, because of its emphasis on teaching "life skills" to all youth. Each high school has a "life skills" program to prepare students for "the rea1-world". Junior Achievement offers a career development program in many of the schools partially funded by Milford's Promise, the United Way, Rotary Club, and local businesses as well as our state legislative delegation.
These programs are based on life-skills such as understanding your community, successful resume writing and interviewing skills. The YMCA and Milford's Promise have also implemented after-school programs based on the principles of team building and respect, skills that are integral to future success. Milford was also recognized for its growing Youth Network, which fosters communication and partnerships along the youth servicing agencies in Milford.

She has updated our list of the most frequently asked questions. Please click on FAQs for answers to questions such as "How do I find out about school cancellations and delays?," or "My child forgot their homework or lunch, how do I get it to them?," along with some other really great information.
