You are preparing for a concert of French composers this Thursday!
Think about what images come to mind when you hear them!
The fourth piece we will focus on is the one you are hearing right now-
it is a beautiful French piece by Délibes from the opera "Lakme"- it is a
duet usually sung by two people but this is performed with voice and violin
and you will hear it in woodwind - enjoy!
Open the link and click the play button. This piece is called Rondeau by a
composer named Jean-Joseph Mouret. It was written in the 1700's for King
Louis XV and should make you think of French noblemen and women in wigs and
dresses with large skirts in a regal ceremony or perhaps dancing in a
palace... Mouret - Rondeau

| | Click on the word Listen next to number #7 and turn up the volume. This is a
beautiful piece by Erik Satie. It is slow and melodic - maybe you picture a
scene of quiet, peaceful water... Satie - Gymnopédie

Claude Debussy. This piece by Debussy is happy and light - actually written
