How much homework do third graders receive?
Students will have a math, spelling, and an occasional writing
worksheet Monday-Thursday. The worksheets sent home help reinforce basic
skills covered in class, and allow parents to see what is being taught in
school. If a student is struggling with the homework, please provide help
but write a note on the homework explaining the child's difficulty.
Students are also required to read for at least 10 minutes each night.
These minutes include reading independently, reading to someone else, or
being read to. Once 50,000 Reading at Home minutes have been
completed third graders celebrate with a Reading
Celebration Day!

Are parents allowed in Room 9?
Parents are welcome to Room 9 as long as the visits have been pre-arranged
with me. Please make sure to check in at the front office and get a
visitors pass from Mrs. Clark. Safety for PDS students is our biggest
concern!
--------------------------------------
How can I get in touch with Miss Ramey about my child's progress?
Email me at jramey@milforded.org, send in a note, or call the school. I
will get back to you as soon as possible!
--------------------------------------
What do I do if my child has a different dismissal procedure?
If your child is a regular buser I cannot release them as a walker without
a note. Please send in a brief note giving your child permission to be
dismissed as a walker, or to be sent home with another adult besides their
guardian.
--------------------------------------
Do students still eat snack on delayed openings?
Students do not eat snack on these days. Children should eat breakfast
before they come to school. On these shortened days, instructional time is
the priority!
--------------------------------------
What time do the students eat lunch?
12:35-1:05. Parents are welcome to have lunch with their child. Please
sign in at the main office, obtain a visitors pass, and let Mrs. Clark know
where you are headed.
