~REMINDERS:
1. The trip to the Foran High School Planetarium is on May 20. Permission
slips are due 5-15-08.
2. Check out the new pages added to our site...hear the kids sing their
multiplication facts!!
3. If your child is being dismissed differently than their normal routine I
must have a note.
4. Check out the Wish List section of our website. All classroom donations
are greatly appreciated!! Thank you to all the parents who have donated:)
~Remind your child to return their reading log every Monday (10 minutes per
night). Check out the Reading Minutes link and Reading Minutes Log link for
more information.
~Here is a glimpse of what students will be doing this week:
READING:
Students will choose a project/writing assignment to extend the book Freckle Juice
Third graders will also take the final district reading comprehension test and
the DRP in the upcoming weeks. I will send home these scores as soon as they
become available.
WRITING:
Students will continue writing fictional narratives this week: Imagine a long
lost relative comes to visit you. The relative brings an unusual gift when he
arrives. Write about the gift and what happens next!
Room 9 students will continue to focus on editing and revising skills as well.
MATH:
Fractions
Please continue to practice math facts at home every night.
SPELLING:
Unit 29

Our next unit will begin in May (Government)
SCIENCE:
Students have chosen a planet to write a report on. This week we will begin
the fact finding process and begin to organize these ideas!
