About The Teacher
My name is Mrs. Laura Murphy. I live in Orange with my husband Todd and two children, Brendan and Cavan. Brendan is 15 and is a Sophomore at Amity High School. Cavan is 13, he is in eighth grade at Amity Middle School. We are all Yankee fans! We also like the Giants and the Patriots - an unlikely combination. This is my fifth year teaching kindergarten in the Milford School System. I have a BS in Early Childhood Education and a BA in Psychology. I am currently taking classes towards my Masters in Education at Southern Connecticut State University. I truly enjoy being part of a young child's learning process. The growth that children obtain in kindergarten is just amazing! I enjoy reading and I am part of a book club that meets once a month. I love spending time with my family and running with my friends.

My mission is to create a classroom environment that promotes kindness and respect. My goal is for each child to reach their own personal best in reading, writing, and math. I want my students to be proud of their accomplishments, because they put the effort into achieving them. I want every child to feel safe and comfortable in room 6.
