I have had the pleasure of teaching in Milford for 19 years. I have been at
Pumpkin Delight School for 16 years.
I have been a resident of Milford for the past 9 years. My son Marc,
currently attends East Shore Middle school and is starting Grade 8 this fall!
I still remember the day I put him on the bus for Kindergarten! He is really
my pride and joy.
My major instrument is flute and I am also trained as a Band Director. I
received my Bachelor of Science Degree in Music Education from the University
of Bridgeport in 1986. I earned my Master's of Music with concentration in
Music in Special Education from State University of New York, Potsdam
College, The Crane School of Music in 1990. I am currently a member of Music
Educator's National Conference (M.E.N.C.), Connecticut Music Educator's
Association (C.M.E.A), Kappa Delta Pi, an international Honor Society, and Pi
Kappa Lambda Music Honor Society. I have also worked as an Adjudicator for
the Southern Regional Middle School Festival for 2 years.
For most of my career I have worked at multiple schools. I first started out
at Mathewson and Kay Avenue (now West Shore Middle School) Schools as a long-
term substitute. I first started with 2 classes at Pumpkin Delight in the
fall of 1990 when Pumpkin Delight had 3 Music Teachers! I was assigned to
Pumpkin Delight as the primary Music Teacher in the Fall of 1992.
This year I am currently assigned to 2 schools. They are: Pumpkin Delight
School and Orange Avenue School.
At Pumpkin Delight School I have Grades Kindergarten though Grade 5 and 4th-
and 5th-Grade Chorus. At Orange Avenue School I currently have one of each
Grades 1,2 and 3.
If you have any questions, please contact me at Pumpkin Delight School at 783-

The members of the Music Department believe that the Arts play a vital role
in the development of every child. A comprehensive music education prepares
students to develop musical aptitude, carry on our heritage, maintain a sense
of community, share cultural experiences, and become an informed society of
participants who can make sound judgements with regard to their personal
music choices.
In addition to developing the child's musicianship, music education expands
the full range of students' intelligences by promoting imaginiation,
creativity, human relationships and self-expression. Our pupose is to
contribute to the holistic development of the child.
Music education develops self-discipline and the capacity to refine work
according to high quality standards and prepares the students for success in
a wide variety of careers. It fosters creativity, independence, and develops
the ability to solve complex problems. Participation in music develops
teamwork, contributes to a posititve school atmosphere, enhances self-esteem
and the quality of life.
The experiences we offer our students will provide opportunitites to create,
perform, and respond to music. Through the implementation of a curriculum
based upon this philosophy, students will be provided the fundamental skills
necessary to engage in a life-long relationship with music.
