IB and the Environment

The International Baccalaureate Program's philosophy is at the center of the school curriculum. The environment is used as an integrating context for learning across all subject areas. Students engage in inquiry-based units focusing on building global awareness and the application of scientific skills in all subject areas. As a Stamford Public School, the school offers a rigorous curriculum based on the National Standards.

The mission of the International Baccalaureate (IB) is "...to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect."

The International Baccalaureate's overarching continuum emphasizes: student-centered inquiry-based learning experiences; foreign language instruction; an application of acquired skills and knowledge; a spirit of discovery and an enjoyment of learning.

IB encourages students to ask challenging questions, to discover new ways of learning, and to develop a sense of identity as global citizens in the 21st century.

Rogers Community Pantry Needs Donations

As you all are well aware, the downturn in the economy has affected many families in our area. Rogers International School is partnering with the Rogers Magnet PTO to create a pantry within the school to help our families.

Each month we will be posting a list of the non-perishable food items needed most. This month we are looking for:

Pasta, pasta sauce, rice, dried beans, canned fruit, boxed or powered milk, juice (bottles or boxes), granola bars, healthy cereal, peanut butter, jelly and cooking oil. Please be sure to check the expiration date.

Also, Gift Cards to Stop & Shop or Shoprite in small denomination ($5 & $10).

All donations can be placed in the labeled container in the main lobby with the exception of gift cards they should be handed to Alicia Hernandez in the main office.

Families in need of assistance should see Jen Argenio or Alicia Hernandez.

Rogers prides itself on the great community we have created. Thank you all for your help.
