We we'll be learning a lot this year! Strategies for better writing, reading
comprehension, word analysis, spelling, grammar, and vocabulary development
will be explored and integrated. We will also be applying critical reading
and writing skills to identify, define, and compare reading elements,
genres, and author's purpose and craft. There will be Book Talks, individual
and whole class dramatic reading of quality fiction
and non-fiction related to curriculum, content areas, and specific
student interests. Becoming a better writer in many genres will be a major
goal. So, we will be learning and applying the 6 Traits of Writing as well as
unique and interesting presentation of our work.
A variety of resources will be utilized to keep things interesting,
technology, Eggspert, Flying Fish, and Spike Ball to name a few.
