How do I know if there is a delayed opening or school closing?
Log on to the Internet to site http://www.milforded.org.
or
Call the Milford Board of Ed at 783-3400 for a recorded message after 6:15am.
Listen to your local radio stations (WICC, WEZN, WAVZ, and WPLR) and/or
television newscasts (WTNH-TV, WVIT-TV, or Channel 12 News).
What time does school begin on a delayed opening?
Our school begins at 10:25 A.M.
What time are children dismissed on an early dismissal day?
Children are dismissed at 1:25 P.M.
Do I have to notify the school if my child is going to be absent?
Please call the school to notify us that your child will be out. Upon
returning, please send a note explaining the absence and doctor's note if
under a doctor's care.
What is the procedure if my child has a change in pick up from school?
If you know ahead of time that you will be picking up your child early,
send a note in with your child letting us know what time you are coming. If
you need to pick your child up due to an unforeseen circumstance, call the
school so we can notify your child's teacher. The children will be called
to the office upon your arrival. You must sign your child out in the main
office.
If your child is going to a friend's house after school, you need to
send your child to school with a note informing the teacher of the change in
dismissal. Children are not allowed to ride different buses for play
dates.
How can I arrange for homework when my child is absent?
Homework pick-up is arranged through the main office. When you are calling
in your child's absence, please let us know at this time that you are
requesting homework. Homework can be picked up at the office after
dismissal time or can be sent home with another student. Homework requests
made after lunchtime are not guaranteed.
Can I have lunch with my child?
We are sorry, but this is no longer possible. Due to an increase in our
enrollment and for our students' safety and privacy, we can no longer have
family members join students for lunch. We are unable to accommodate the
number of parents, guardians, grandparents and younger siblings who have been
coming to school to have lunch with students. We need the tables to
accommodate our students and to provide a safer environment. Thank you for
your understanding.
Who do I speak with about my child's lunch account?
The person to contact is Cindy Hanson. You can send a note to school with your
child requesting that she call you. Please include your phone number where you
can be reached, the name of your child, and your child's ID number if you know
it. For more information go to http://milfordfs.org/
How do I find out what is being served for school lunches?
The Milford Food Service website has a section detailing the menu.
http://milfordfs.org/
What is the policy for school parties and birthdays?
Please do not send in food for holidays or birthdays. For a detailed
explanation, please click on the link called school policies on the Parent
Resources page.
What if my child forgets something he/she needs at school?
•Please note that it is not possible for children to call home for missing
sneakers, books etc. If you are aware of something your child needs to have,
please bring it to the office and your child will be called to come and get it
at a convenient time for the teacher and child. Please make a note on your
calendar of the day of the week your child has P.E. so missing sneakers will
not be an issue.
How do I get an appointment to meet with my child's teacher or the principal?
Send a note with your child, or email the teacher/principal requesting a
meeting and she/he will get back to you as soon as possible to make an
appointment for a mutually convenient day and time.
