7th Grade Homeroom

    Homeroom Rules, Policies, and Guidelines

Teachers will meet students in the Hall by 7:55 a.m. Please arrive promptly.

Students will line up with other grade level students and wait for one of the
homeroom teachers to escort them into the school building.
If you are arriving early for extra help or a meeting with a teacher, report
to the main entrance, go to the office to have the teacher paged, and wait
for the teacher to meet you in the hallway. Never enter into a teacher’s
classroom if the teacher is not present. You may not linger in the hallways
or visit lockers before school hours begin without teacher permission.
Please bring all notes to the homeroom teacher before going to your locker.
Go to your lockers silently and quickly and prepare for the morning session.
Leave your backpack and lunch in your locker. All students are expected to be
in homeroom NO LATER THAN 8:02 a.m.
If you arrive after 8:05 a.m., report directly to the main office to retain a
tardy slip from the office. You must report to homeroom to present your
homeroom teacher the tardy slip and then you may go to your locker to unpack.
Remember to bring your tardy slip to your first period class.
If you are tardy three or more times in a two week period, you will be given
a conduct referral which immediately impacts your High Honor/Honor roll
Status.
Lockers should be organized at all times and your schedule should be posted
inside your locker door. You will not be permitted to return to your locker
once a class begins. Students will be given certain duties to perform on a
weekly basis to maintain the organization of the classroom. Students should
check the board every Monday morning to see if they have a job to perform
that day/week.
At the end of Period 8, return to your lockers, look in your assignment pad,
and take home any materials that you need for homework. This should be done
quickly and quietly. Once you have packed and gathered your belongings,
return immediately to the homeroom classroom. You should be in homeroom by
2:40 p.m. for announcements and dismissal. Please do not bring home any books
or materials that are not needed for work due the following two days. Use
your time management skills to complete work due for the next day and for
preparation of assessments for the week!  YOU ARE NOT EXPECTED TO DEDICATE
MORE THAN 60-90 MINUTES PER NIGHT TO PREPARE FOR THE NEXT DAY OR ADVANCE
PREPARATION FOR WEEKLY WORK.
During afternoon dismissal students are to remain silent and in their seats
until  dismissed. Students staying after school must have a note and must
wait until their activity or ASC is called to leave the room. Students may
not wander the halls or enter another classroom if there is no teacher
present.
Advisory is held Friday mornings before Mass in homeroom. These Advisory
meetings will consist of a variety of activities including learning study and
organizational skills, discussion of school policies, homeroom “projects”,
one-on-one meetings with a homeroom Advisor, team-building activities, etc.
Students should have a 1 subject notebook for their Advisory sessions.
Friday Mass attire: gentlemen must wear long pants (Fall and Spring months)
with a belt and the uniform shirt. Blazers are optional. Ladies may wear the
white uniform blouse with long pants, skirt, or skort (Spring only). Please
check the Student Handbook for further uniform guidelines.
Bullying is very serious and will not be tolerated at St. Rose of Lima
School. If you are a victim of bullying or a witness of bullying, please
report it by telling a teacher or administrator or by writing an anonymous
note and dropping it in the homeroom in-box.
