Dear Parents,

Happy Easter and welcome SPRING!  It is wonderful to spend the weeks leading  up to Easter with your children.  If only I could bottle their compassion for others, their willingness to forgive, and their openness to share their love for Jesus.  God must certainly smile with great joy to behold them.  Thank you for allowing me to be apart of their spiritual growth and development as well as their social and intellectual development.  A sincere thank you to all the moms and dads for all the help with various projects in the classroom last week and to everyone for helping me with the items I need in the classroom.  You cannot imagine how much it helps me out. Thank you again.  I feel so blessed to have such supportive parents as partners!

It is hard to believe that April is upon us.  And we are so grateful that Spring has finally sprung!  This month we will investigate and enjoy wonderful aspects of spring.  We will especially focus on planting and gardening, new creation and growth.  I would love to have some help from parents with a green thumb to help us with planting our own seeds.  I would like to do some planting in the back of the school as we celebrate Earth day towards the middle of the month. 

Language: The letters that we will focus on this month will include letters that involve right and left ear curves.  For example, P, B, and R.  After the children have been exposed to all the letters; we will use the rest of the year will activities that involve all the letters. 

Math/ Science:  The children will continue to work on 1 to 1 correspondence as they work with seeds, flowers, chicks and eggs.  This is my favorite time of year in science, the children will experiment with the changing season, new growth, seed growing and towards the end of the month we will set up our own habitat as we experience the changes in new creation with tadpoles and caterpillars.  Again, if anyone would like to come in and plan a project with the children we would love to have you. 

I also have some fun events planned for the month; and it will begin with our Spring break April 14 – 20^th.  We have a field trip planned for the Big Y on Tuesday, April 22^nd.  On April 25^th, we will be planting outside the school.  God Bless!
