About The Teacher

Welcome to sixth grade! My name is
Tamberly Bukovchik-Gorton, and
this is my 23rd year teaching in the
Stratford School System. I
started my teaching career as a grade
5/6 teacher at Stratford
Academy-Johnson House. I then moved to
Franklin School where I taught
6th grade for 18 years. I am very
excited to begin my 2nd year at
Second Hill Lane.I hold this school near
and dear to my heart as I am a
SHL alumni!
I earned my Bachelors and Masters
degrees in elementary education from the
University of Connecticut at Storrs. My
other area of focus was
mathematics!

For many years, I served as the
lead teacher for Nature's Classroom,
was the chairperson for the Math
Committee and the advisor for the sixth
grade yearbook. I also have served as a
BEST cooperating teacher for
three student teachers was a mentor to
three first year teachers.

I have been married to a wonderful
man for 21 years and have 2 kitties
named Molokai and Maui. My hobbies
include traveling (my favorite
place to travel is Hawaii), whitewater
kayaking, paddle-boarding, hiking, reading, and
gardening.

Mission For The Class

I believe that all students are unique
individuals and are capable of
learning. Our classroom is a friendly
learning environment which
fosters independence. Responsibility
and good character are expected
from each child on a daily basis.
Through hard work, collaboration
between the teacher, student, and
parents, success is possible!

                                   Welcome to Success!
