I am a very busy mother of 4 and a full-time English teacher. I earned a
bachelor's degree from Penn State and completed my teacher certification and
some graduate work at Southern CT. I love what I do, but my family must
always come first...even if that means it takes me a little longer to grade
your papers or I have to miss a day of school once in awhile. So please be
patient! My advice to all of you is to try and read more...yes, pick up a
book, or even Newsweek, Time, or The New York Times, instead of turning on
the television or your computer.
It is my goal to establish a classroom environment that promotes critical
thinking and independence. It is my hope that all of you will take
responsibility for your own learning and not simply be a passive member of
the class. If you need help, ASK! Remember that learning is an ongoing
process; nobody learns it all in one night or even one year. Ask questions,
take risks, challenge yourselves and always strive to do your best. Just as
I set goals for myself as a teacher and for you as my students, it is
important that you, too, set goals for yourselves. I can help you get there,
but you have to meet me half way. Let's work together!
