Is homework assigned nightly?

Yes, indeed there is. Homework will usually require reading the text and
taking notes. I do not give written homework over the weekend, however I do
expect all students to read the newspaper and/or watch the news.

How important is class participation?

Class participation is very important in this class. I expect all students
to come to class prepared. You should have all necessary materials and be
ready to participate in discussions.

How frequently are tests given?

I like to test students after each chapter. My tests consist of multiple
choice questions and essays.

What materials are needed for the course?

All students must have a notebook, writing instrument, and access to a

for daily writing assignments.

How are current events incorporated into class?

My goal is that current events becomes a major part of the class. Linking
the past to the present helps students to better understand contemporary
issues and complicated economic theories.

What do I do if I miss a class?

If you know you are going to be absent, it is always helpful to let me know
in advance so that I can assign you the work ahead of time.
If you are out sick, you are responsible for notes taken in class and the
homework assigned. If you are out the day of a test, you should be prepared
to take the test on the day you return.
