I am a 1994 graduate of Trumbull High School. I then went on to Salisbury
State University in Maryland where I graduated with a
degree in History and minors/concentrations in Education and Social
Studies. I attended Southern Connecticut State University and received two
degrees: a Masters of Science in Political Science and Sixth Year in
Educational Leadership.
I am a founding member of the band Hash Clyde, and am currently singing and
playing bass on an album, "A Mean Plate of Hash Clyde." We also play local
gigs periodically.
I am the first winner of "Faculty Athlete of the Year," 2003-2004.
Most importantly, I am married to Mrs. Basbagill in the Math
Department. We primarily sit around talking about historical
mathematicians like Einstein or Pythagoras. We have a daughter, Maggie and
a son, Timmy.
My mission for teaching is to give students the tools they need to learn
more, and develop a more fundamental understanding of the world around
them. Often, students ask what the importance is of learning certain
topics, whether it be political parties circa 1796 or the concept of
aggregate demand. My belief is that the purpose of education is to
demystify the world around us so that our kids can better make decisions for
their own lives.
