Accounting I and II

Student Responsibilities – Accounting and Adv. Accounting

You have elected to enroll in the world of business with Accounting or Advanced Accounting.  I believe your experiences in class will benefit you both in your private life and in your chosen career.  This class will benefit all students interested in majoring in business in college, or those choosing to own their own business.  Your attention and commitment is vital to your success in accounting.  Active participation will aid in your understanding of accounting.  As a member of my class it is to your advantage to be alert to certain responsibilities that I place upon you.

ATTENDANCE and TARDIES:

You are to come to class ON TIME and ready to work.  Please keep in mind that I will report cuts to your parents and the house principal. Cuts and tardiness will lower your marking period grade!  Remember, unexcused absences count as two absences and tardy to class counts as ½ of an absence toward credit loss.  You lose credit at 20 absences.

PARTICIPATION:

Daily participation is extremely important.  You are expected to ask and answer questions and participate within group activities.  You are required to bring a calculator to class every day.  Class participation counts toward your grade.  It is an easy way to increase your grade point average.

CODE OF CONDUCT:

1.       RESPECT of others

2.       NO CELL PHONES – they cannot be used as a calculator

3.       NO CD Players/ IPODS or any Headphones

4.       You must follow the dress code

5.       We will follow the Attendance policy

6.       Positive Attitude

COURSE ASSESSMENTS:

Tests (including a midterm and final)

Quizzes

Class participation/Attendance

Homework assignments

Business simulation(s)

Note:  It is YOUR responsibility to find out what work you missed when you are out and hand it in the NEXT DAY.  If you are absent during a quiz you must be prepared to take the quiz the day you return.  IF your absence is unexcused (no call from home, no note brought in the next day) then a make up test is not given and a grade of “0” is entered.
