There are times when students may not necessarily be ready or willing to be
in class. During these times, students may not be working on the lesson for
the day or they may be more interested in socializing with friends than
attending to their school work. In most cases some simple reminders about
what the purpose for the lesson is may bring a student back on task. If the
student still chooses to avoid working, I will not spend too much time
attempting to get them back on track. Instead I will sign them up for my
English Club, which meets from 2:30 until 3:00 on Mondays, Wednesdays and
Thursdays. During this time we will try to make up the lesson that was
missed and additional assignments may be given.
When you are assigned to the English club you have one calendar week to
attend a club meeting. If you blow that off, a house referral will be made
and Darth Vader will come and get you and freeze you in carbonite.
