What kind of calculator should I have?

ACP Precalculus and Honors Calculus - A graphing calculator is 
required.  Preferably a TI-84 (regular, Plus, or Silver Edition).

CP Algebra One - A scientific calculator is needed.

Does homework count on my marking period grade?

Adv College Prep PC and Calculus 400- ...Homework counts as extra 
credit - see policies and procedures handout.

CP Algebra One - Homework is 25% of the grade (combined with 
class assignments and any other collected work)

If my homework is late am I penalized?

Yes...I do not accept late homework.  You are not allowed to make 
up any assignments unless there were extraordinary circumstances.

If I am absent on the day an assignment is due, what do I do?

Show me the assignment upon your return to my class for full 
credit.  If you do not show this to me on the first day of your 
return, then the assignment will not be accepted.  NOTE: This is 
not for PROJECTS.  Projects are due by the date assigned or 
earlier.

If I am absent on the day an assignment was given, what do I do?

You have the same number of school days as you were absent to 
make up the assignment.  For example, if an assignment was given 
on Monday and you were absent Monday and Tuesday, you would 
receive two days to makeup the assignment from Monday night.  You 
are responsible for completing and showing me the assignment upon 
completion.

How is homework graded?

For full credit – each problem must be attempted.  Attempted 
means that there is work shown for each problem.  Do not leave 
any problems blank – include a question that you had about the 
problem – what was giving you difficulty in the problem?  
Recopying the problem does not count as an attempt.  On each 
homework assignment you should be practicing proper notation and 
include full and complete answers, including sentences, as 
necessary.

For half-credit – at least half the problems were attempted (as 
stated above)

No credit will be given if less than half the assignment was 
attempted.

What about 'attendance'? Does it really count?

Yes, I follow the school's guidelines regarding tardies and 
absences.  House offices must be notified within 48 hours of a
student's return to school for the absence to be excused.

When do I ask for extra help?

If you have a problem that has not been answered in class, then 
you NEED HELP NOW!  Assistance must be requested immediately!  
Remember to seek help when it is needed, not when it is 
convenient because by then it may be too late!

Is Miss Rodrigues available for extra help?

Yes, extra help is offered every Thursday (unless announced in 
class).  It is also available in the mornings by appointment and 
after school by appointment on Monday and Wednesday.
