Coach Darak's End of Chapter Notebook Rubric

At the end of each unit or chapter, I will assess the organization and content of your notebook. The maximum number of points that you can earn for this assessment is 100. On average, there will be around 3 assessments per marking period. Following the rubric are some common issues that students lose points for in their assessment.

Category and Maximum Points

No Stickee Note/Bookmark at the beginning of the current unit.  Minus 5

Objective & Homework handout on 1st page of unit:           5 points

Daily Work Started on New Side of Page:                         25 points

Dated to the Left of the red margin

                  Lesson Numbers clearly marked

Notes taken for every lesson are complete

Student Work details page and problem numbers:             50 points

Page and problem numbers are detailed on page

                  Fully Complete student work

                  All work shown

Test/Quizzes & Admin Handouts in own sections:             5 points

Neat & Organized:                                                          15 points

Top 10 Common Errors with Notebook

1) Weekly Objective is not the first page in the Notes & Student Work Section of each unit.

2) Notes & Student Work is not started on a new side of paper or it is not dated.

3) The date is not written to the LEFT of the red margin.

4) The Lesson Number for the day is not written down.

5) Missing days of notes or not enough notes.

6) Missing or incomplete homework assignments. Not all work is shown with your homework assignment.

7) Missing detail about the homework assignment: missing page number or problems assigned or not showing your work. Handouts are not dated or put in ascending order.

8) Tests/Quizzes or Administrative handouts missing or not in their proper section

9) Having paper on inside front or back cover of the binder, or having pages loosely in the binder or in a folder within the binder.

10) Mixing Student Work/Notes/Tests/etc. in the same section
