About The Teacher Label:
About The Teacher
This site is intended to be an extension of the classroom and not a replacement for instruction. It WILL NOT contain day-to-day lessons, or smaller in-class assignments. I usually update the homework calendars at the beginning of a unit and include reading assignments and any due dates for long-term assignments. Occasionally the calendars need to be changed because of unforseen needs in pacing or scheduling. I will relay any changes to students in the classroom first, and then post them on this site. Please note: THE MOST UP-TO-DATE LIST OF ASSIGNMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED ON THE BOARD IN THE CLASSROOM. Students find this site useful as it offers them the "big picture" of where they are headed, can often help keep them on target for reading assignments if they are missing school due to illness or vacation, and will contain copies of larger assignments in case a student has misplaced the copy that was handed out in class. Use the links to the left to find your class and the desired page.

Mission
I began teaching in 1999 at Trumbull High School. I have also taught at Western Connecticut State University and Pomperaug Regional High School. Prior to my Connecticut experience, I student taught at Brookline High School in Brookline, MA. I seem to have left my heart in Boston where I earned a B.A. in English and M.Ed in Secondary Education from Boston College (GO EAGLES!). I consider myself to be an easy-going and open-minded individual with a sense of humor. I have three young sons who keep me quite busy: Jaden, Tanner, and Gavin. For fun, I like to read a good book, take a long walk (yes, with the screaming children in tow), or on the very rare occasion when I am alone in the evening, sit outside and listen to...silence. My philosophy: "Try not to have any fun - this is supposed to be educational." - Charles Schultz. Just kidding! I consider humor to be an integral part of the educational process. School should be entertaining as well as informative. My goal is for students to become better readers, writers, and thinkers. There are some challenging readings and assignments ahead of you that will help you grow as a student and as a person as you prepare for life beyond high school.
Or, would you like to view and optionally restore one of these previous versions?
