Dear Parents, December 7, 2009
I hope that everybody enjoyed the first snow of the season over the weekend.
AM SESSION:
This week we will read Mr. Cookie Baker , make dough and roll out our own cookies. We will sort and pattern with cookies, practice taking turns, and learn about the concept of 'one more'. We will also go on a PINK hunt around the room.
Please send two slices of any type of bread in a labeled baggie to school. the bread can be stale, we will use it next week for an activity. We also are in need of some cereal for this activity. This too can be stale. Please make sure all items are nut free!! J
PM Session
This week we are starting with our gingerbread house activity. We will list all the things we need, sequence the order of a shopping trip, make the dough, and roll and bake the pieces.
I would appreciate if you could send small quantities of different candy to school for decorating our house when it is ready.
We are exploring three dimensional shapes, focusing on the cylinder. Please help your child find a cylindrical shape and send it to school (labeled) by Friday.

Weather permitting, we will go outside to play on a daily basis, so please dress your child appropriately for the colder weather. Mittens instead of gloves are appreciated.
