Welcome Letter

August 2009

Dear Parents,

My name is Dorian Pacelli, and I will be your child’s teacher for the 2009-2010 school year at Trumbull Early Childhood Education Center (TECEC). I am so excited to be working with your child! Our room number is 121, the second door on the right as you enter the building! TECEC is located in the rear of Middlebrook Elementary School at 240 Middlebrooks Avenue. The first day of school is September 2nd. You will be receiving more information in the upcoming days from our administrator, Dr. Matthew Wheeler.

Our preschool program teaches literature-based themes. You will receive weekly letters with information regarding the learning activities we have planned for the class, based on the story or theme. Our first theme for the school year is “All About Me.” It will focus on being in school for the first time, making friends, and things about us that are special! We will help your child (and you J) become adjusted to coming to school, and to his/her new friends and teachers. If you would like to send in an item that would help ease this transition, please do so (something small and clearly labeled with his/her name).

This information is also available on my website at: http://teacherweb.com/ct/trumbullpreschool/missdorian/

Please send the following items to stay in the classroom: (PLEASE LABEL)

  1. Two pictures of your child – one for his/her circle chair, and one for his/her cubby.
  2. A labeled plastic bag of extra clothes: include a shirt, pants, socks, underwear and sneakers (if possible). These will be sent home for seasonal clothing replacements.
  3. A supply of diapers/pull-ups and a container of wipes (if applicable)
  4. One box of tissues and one roll of paper towels for our class.

Please send in with your child daily: (PLEASE LABEL)

  1. A backpack large enough to hold a snack pack, notebook, and various artwork (our goal is for the children to pack their own backpacks - the bigger the better) :).
  2. One small healthy snack in a snack pack, including a drink (water is preferred), and a baggie for leftovers (Our school is nut-free – please do not send in snacks that contain nuts, or that are processed in a plant with nuts). Thanks in advance for your cooperation in this important safety measure! J
  3. A notebook for ongoing communication and a folder for notices.

I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!

Sincerely,

Dorian Pacelli
