Theme: Meal time Routines
We will begin to get ready for Thanksgiving as we learn our mealtime
routines. We will read a teacher made book called 'Turkeys by the Table'
along with 'Turkeys Never Gobble' to help us learn mealtime manners. We will
also read other related turkey, harvest and giving thanks themed books and
sing songs/ fingerplays. Concepts to be covered this week and next include:
characteristics of turkeys, foods we eat at meal times including the
difference between breakfast, lunch and dinner, manners, process of setting
the table, what we give thanks for and foods farmers harvest from the fields.
Our projects this week, include making handprint turkeys, cards for our
families and corn stalks indicating what we are thankful for. Next week, in
leui of a feast (in keeping with food free parties at TECEC), we will make
homemade non toxic playdough as a group activity. This will also be our
culminiating color activity- as we will start with making the primary colors
and then enjoy mixing to create the secondary colors! A portion of this will
be sent home in playdough containers for your child to play with at home
indicating their favorite color.

party shoes). Thanks!**
