WELCOME TO MISS HANE’S CLASS

To the Parents of ________________,

     My name is Heatherly Hane, I will be your child’s teacher this 2009-2010 school year at the Trumbull Early Childhood Education Center (TECEC), classroom #130.  Our building is located in the rear of Middlebrook Elementary School on 240 Middlebrooks Ave. 

     Our preschool program teaches a literature- based theme each week.  Weekly letters can be found on our classroom website:  www.Teacherweb.com/ct/TrumbullPreschool/MissHeatherly  to inform you of the theme that week and the fun activities we have planned for the class, based on the story.  In circle, on Thursdays, we set aside time for Show & Tell.  The ‘homework’ page will tell you of the item or discussion topic for each week.

     The TECEC has a strong PTO group that meets monthly to creatively help the preschool be a better place.  I encourage all parents to become actively involved.  One of the most successful fundraisers is the TECEC tee shirt sale.  The order form will be available at the start of school.   

Please send the following items to stay in the classroom: PLEASE LABEL

1)   Extra clothes, including a shirt, pants, socks, underwear/ diapers/ pull-ups, wipes (refills are preferred) and sneakers (if possible).  These will be sent home for seasonal clothing replacements.  Paint smock (old adult tee shirt is preferred).

2)   Two pictures of your child- one for the circle chair and one for the cubby.

Please send in with your child daily:  PLEASE LABEL

1)   Backpack large enough to hold a snack pack, notebook and various artwork.

2)   Small healthy snacks (at least two, to provide a choice in preference and texture), including a drink (water is preferred) and baggie for leftovers, in a snack pack. NO NUT Products allowed in school.

3)   Marble covered notebook (NO spiral notebooks) for daily communication and folder for mail.
